To showcase Bangladesh’s promising tourism sector on the global stage, the Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2025 marathon event was held on Friday at Hatirjheel in the capital.

The event was organized by the Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB), a key partner in the tourism sector.

The festive run began at 6 a.m. from the Police Plaza end of Hatirjheel and concluded with a grand celebration at the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre.

Among the dignitaries present were Abu Taher Mohammad Jaber, CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board; Additional Inspector General of Tourist Police Md. Mainul Hasan; Ghanashyam Bhandari, Ambassador of Nepal; Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al Hamoudi, Ambassador of the UAE; Nina P. Cainglet, Ambassador of the Philippines; Paulo Fernando Dias Feres, Ambassador of Brazil; and acting Ambassador of Thailand, Panwam.

Over 700 participants took part, including diplomats, professionals from the aviation and tourism sectors, travelers, and professional runners from home and abroad.

This year, two categories were held for adults: a 7.5 km run and a 2 km fun run.

Winners of the 7.5 km run (Men's Category):

- 1st: Elahi Sardar

- 2nd: Ashraful Alam

- 3rd: Sajjad Hossain

Winners of the 7.5 km run (Women's Category):

- 1st: Sadia Shawlin Sigma

- 2nd: Swarna

- 3rd: Farzana

Winners of the 2 km Fun Run:

- 1st: Jisan

- 2nd: Abhi Islam

- 3rd: Zahurul

The title sponsor of Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2025 was Rhythm Group.

Its Managing Director Sohag Hossain said, “The festive atmosphere around Hatirjheel was truly vibrant. We’re delighted to be part of this initiative and remain committed to supporting efforts that promote tourism in Bangladesh.”

The event was powered by the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB). CEO Abu Taher Mohammad Jaber said, “This was a thoroughly enjoyable event. I believe it will play a significant role in promoting tourism.”

ATJFB President Tanzim Anwar said, “This is ATJFB’s first marathon event. We’re overwhelmed by the enthusiastic participation of all runners. To further elevate Bangladesh’s tourism profile globally, ATJFB announces the upcoming Winter Marathon. We hope to have you all with us there.”

ATJFB General Secretary Baten Biplob and Chief Coordinator of Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2025, Shafiullah Suman, also addressed the audience.

The event was supported by: Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Tourist Police Bangladesh, ATAB, TOAB, Electrolyte Drink Active, Dhaka WASA, Famous Specialized Hospital, and Famous Creation. Additional sponsors included: Ethiopian Airlines, Bhaiya Group, Eastern Bank, FitsAir, Bengal Airlift, ShareTrip, Air India, American Tourister, TPC, Titan, Samsonite, Skin Perfume, US-Bangla Airlines, NOVOAIR, and Air Astra.

Dr. Nasrin Akhter Shimu served as the event influencer. LPacers included Shahriar Morshed Siddiquee, Jannatul Ferdous Mitu, Dr. Md. Naeem Hossain Khan, and K.M. Yasir Arafat Ami. After the run, awards were distributed among the winners. A raffle draw was also held, with five lucky winners receiving return air tickets from Dhaka to Milan, Johannesburg, Bangkok, the Maldives, and Cox’s Bazar.
