For regular golfers, the game is not just a sport; it’s a daily ritual of camaraderie and connection.

Our golfing journey often led us to Kurmitola Golf Club or Army Golf Club during the week, while weekends were reserved for Savar Golf Club.

One winter weekend in 2010, a group of us gathered for a tournament and later enjoyed dinner together. It was during this gathering that the idea of forming a golfing community emerged—one that would unite diplomats, expats, locals, defense personnel, and business leaders.

This esteemed gathering included H.E. Razak Hussaini (former Ambassador of Brunei to Bangladesh), H.E. Bahnarim Guinimola (former Ambassador of the Philippines to Bangladesh), Brigadier General (retd) Manzur Qader, Mr. Syed Mustafizur Rahman, Managing Director of Novo Cargo Services Ltd., Mr. Ariel Miranda, Managing Director of SGS Bangladesh Ltd., Mr. A.H.A. Al Rahman, Managing Director of Orogenic Resources (Bd) Ltd., and Ajay Pratap Singh, Chief Financial Officer of a Bangladeshi textile conglomerate.

H.E. Razak proposed that we form an association of like-minded golfers and suggested naming it the Tiger Golf Club, inspired by the majestic Bengal Tiger. Thus, on October 8, 2012, the Tiger Golf Club (TGC) was born.

Initially established as an association, TGC transitioned into a Limited Company on October 12, 2020. Over the years, we have organized numerous tournaments, both locally and internationally, and evolved into a family of 80 members—comprising professionals, passionate golfers, and enthusiastic amateurs.

Beyond tournaments, TGC is committed to corporate social responsibility. We provide scholarships for underprivileged ball boys, helping to cover their educational expenses. This initiative not only supports their growth but also fosters a strong sense of community.

As we reflect on our glorious journey, I firmly believe TGC will continue to play a vibrant role in contributing to society in the years ahead. Together, we can make a difference both on and off the course.
