
In an effort to highlight Bangladesh’s promising tourism sector on the global stage, the Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2025 marathon will take place this Friday at Hatirjheel in the capital.
The event is being organized by the Aviation and Tourism Journalists' Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB), a key stakeholder in promoting the country’s tourism industry.
The title sponsor of Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2025 is Rhythm Group, and it is powered by the Bangladesh Tourism Board.
Among the distinguished participants will be Air Vice Marshal M. Mafidur Rahman Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber, CEO of the Bangladesh Tourism Board, ambassadors and diplomats from 10 countries including the UAE, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Nepal, Brazil, Algeria, Argentina, and Brunei. Over 700 participants, including professionals from the aviation and tourism industries, travelers, and professional runners from home and abroad, are expected to join.
According to a press release, the event will kick off at 6:00 AM on Friday, April 25, starting from Police Plaza at Hatirjheel, featuring a 7.5-kilometer run and a 2-kilometer fun run.
ATJFB President Tanzim Anwar stated, “ATJFB has consistently taken initiatives to promote the tourism industry of Bangladesh. We’ve successfully organized multiple tourism festivals. This run is a continuation of our efforts, with the aim of showcasing the aviation and tourism sectors of the country. The event will spotlight various promising aspects of these industries.”
Popular influencer Dr. Nasreen Akhter Shimu will be present at the event, while the pacers include Shahriar Morshed Siddiqi, Jannatul Ferdous Mitu, Dr. Md. Naeem Hossain Khan, and K.M. Yasir Arafat Omi.
The event is being supported by several organizations, including CAAB, Tourist Police Bangladesh, ATAB, TOAB, Electrolyte Drinks Active, Dhaka WASA, Famous Specialized Hospital, and Famous Creation.
Chief Coordinator Shafiullah Sumon remarked, “This event has already evolved into a festival. Along with awarding the winners, a raffle draw will be held for all participants. Prizes include return tickets for routes such as Dhaka-Rome-Dhaka, Dhaka-Johannesburg-Dhaka, Dhaka-Maldives-Dhaka, Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka, and Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar-Dhaka.”
Participants will also receive umbrellas and be able to join a photo contest. Additionally, all runners will enjoy a 10% discount on flight tickets from Ethiopian Airlines.
