Independence Day 2025: A New Chapter for Bangladesh
Brigadier General (Retd) Md. Manzur Qader
Vice President, Tiger Golf Club
On March 26th, we celebrate the 54th anniversary of our nation’s independence, a day that marks the resilience, courage, and sacrifices that paved the way for a free Bangladesh. This year’s Independence Day carries a renewed sense of hope and unity, as Bangladesh stands at a turning point in its history. With the appointment of Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus as the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, the nation is coming together—transcending political, religious, and social divides—toward a shared vision of justice, integrity, and sustainable growth.
At Tiger Golf Club, under the leadership of our President, Her Excellency Ms. Sarah Cooke, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, we take pride in fostering an environment where friendship, sportsmanship, and camaraderie thrive. Our club brings together individuals from diverse professions and backgrounds, united by a shared passion for golf and the values it represents—discipline, perseverance, integrity, unity, and equity. These same characteristics are essential as we move toward a new Bangladesh, where progress is built on trust, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. Just as success in golf requires focus, respect, and fair play, so too does the path forward for our nation. By embracing these values, we can ensure a stronger, more united Bangladesh that continues to rise with confidence and purpose.
On this historic occasion, let us reaffirm our collective responsibility in shaping a future built on fairness, opportunity, and equity for all. May this Independence Day inspire us all to work together toward a Bangladesh that moves forward with dignity and progress.
